Softerra LDAP Administrator is the industry-leading software product for browsing and managing LDAP directories. It provides a wide variety of features essential for those involved in LDAP development, deployment and administration. Most of these newly implemented functions are really unique and unprecedented - to date there is nothing to match their efficiency in the existing LDAP software packages. The main goal pursued by LDAP Administrator is to deliver a powerful, integrated yet easy to use tool capable of working with any LDAP server around.
Softerra LDAP Administrator 3.2.1 is an update release which primarily addresses the optimization of Group and Member wizards’ functionality for large-sized directories.
Presented below is a list of changes.
Group and Member Management
Both wizards will no longer activate automatic fetching of all available objects by default right at start due to considerable slowdowns when connected to large-sized directories. Now, if you still wish the wizard to fetch objects automatically at start from a small or mid-sized directory server, please use the Group and Member settings page to enable this feature manually.
With the updated functionality you can now choose to just fetch objects defined by a mask like 'John*' or '*Admin*' instead of all those available. This allows avoiding unnecessary server load while boosting performance when you work with large amounts of data.
The Wizards’ GUIs are now more responsive when it comes to selecting an item, or pressing a button while there is a massive background fetching operation going on.
Server Detection
The IBM Tivoli server detection has been added. Versions 5.1, 5.2, 6.0 and later will no longer be detected as IBM Secure Way servers.
Apache Directory Server now detected.
If Microsoft Exchange server version 5.5 is detected, the application prompts the user to enable the LDAPv2 compatibility mode to avoid a 'No Such Attribute' message.
HTML Pane
Extended list of well-known OIDs decoded for RootDSE attributes.
The supportedCapabilities attribute values are now also decoded.
Bug Fixes and Other Changes
In the previous version some printable Unicode symbols caused LDAP Administrator to display attribute values as binary. Now fixed.
LDAP Administrator now runs under roaming profiles without having 'The profile for the user is a temporary profile' error message at the application start.
The default context menu item is now highlighted.

Although LDAP Administrator is well capable of working on lesser systems, for best results we recommend you install it on an at least 256 MB RAM, 1 GHz Pentium or a faster processor PC with a high or true color display mode of 800x600 pixels or greater.
LDAP Administrator has successfully passed thorough testing on the following platforms:

Where are my profiles stored? How can I edit or copy them to another PC?
Profiles are stored in the metabase.stg file located in the %user_home%\Local Settings\Application Data\Softerra\LDAP Administrator 3 folder. This file is not human readable, so it can't be read or manually edited. To copy your profiles from one workstation to another, just copy the metabase.stg file into an appropriate folder of a destination PC.
I can't connect to my server via a secure (SSL) connection. What's wrong? What can I handle that?
SSL is a tough issue, which requires certain knowledge to be able to perform necessary actions on the server side in order to install SSL support. If you aren't familiar with X.509 and SSL in particular, you expose yourself to a high risk of making a mistake while issuing a server certificate or adjusting your server configuration, which will make it impossible to connect to the server. Our experience shows that in 99% of cases SSL problems appear due to the server-side issues. To troubleshoot your SSL issues, try running your server or SCHANNEL API (an SSL implementation used by LDAP Administrator) in the debug mode.
