Some LDAP servers provide a special sort of information using a single-purpose entry called Monitor. This information comprises server-specific data and statistics like server version, server uptime information, number of current connections, number of initialized operations, number of entries sent to clients, number of initialized operations, back-end database status, etc.
To date there are no existing standards describing server monitors. As a result, every LDAP implementation has its own unique set of attributes and DNs for the monitor entries (if at all present). Usually the DN of the monitor entry is cn=monitor. For the server security purposes, it can be changed either using LDAP server administration tools or in process of server compilation. For this information it's recommended you consult your LDAP server documentation or your system administrator.
To view server monitor information:
Select a profile, an entry or a referral entry from a directory tree.
Click Server Monitor on the Server toolbar.
If fetching monitor information fails, you can specify a new monitor DN in the Monitor DN box and click Refresh.
