Softerra LDAP Administrator Help | Show AllHide All |
When modifying attributes, you may need to delete some of their values which aren't used any more. This function is supported by LDAP Administrator along with deletion of the whole attribute with all its values, i.e. complete removal. It is also possible to delete some specific values from several attributes in one request.
LDAP Administrator provides several ways to delete attribute values:
To delete attribute values:
Select attribute values you'd like to delete.
Click Delete on the Standard toolbar, or press Del, or choose Delete from the context menu.
To delete attributes with all their values:
Select attributes you'd like to delete.
Choose Delete All Values from the context menu.
To delete specific values from several attributes in one request:
Select entries, attributes values of which you'd like to delete.
Click Multiple Modifications on the Entry toolbar or select the same command from the context menu.
Learn more about the Multiple Modifications wizard.
If an LDAP server does not provide any matching rules for a certain attribute type, i.e. it is unable to distinguish between values of different sorts, then it will not allow deleting any specificly selected LDAP attribute values, with the only option remaining for this particular kind of attribute to delete all its values. |
