Softerra LDAP Administrator Help | Show AllHide All |
Sometimes, during a working session LDAP Administrator may ask you for certain confirmations by displaying Confirmation Dialogs. All these dialogs include the Remember my preference box to enable you to remember your current answer in order to avoid bothering yourself with the same confirmation request any further.
For example, when trying to add a new value to an attribute marked as 'single-valued', you will be asked to confirm your intention. Then, if you don't want this Confirmations dialog to be displayed again when adding values to a single-valued attribute, check the Remember my preference box before clicking either Yes or No. Next time you attempt to perform the same operation, the application will use your saved answer without any confirmation requests.
Using this Options page, you can select your preferred answer to each of the Confirmations dialog requests not to display them any further, or rather force some of them to pop up to ask for your answer depending on a situation by choosing the Always Ask item.
By default, LDAP Administrator does not allow you to remember answers that may potentially lead to the application inconsistency by having the Allow saving recommended preferences only box checked. If it weren't, here is a situation you could face. For example, if you decide to delete an element from the application tree, you'll be asked to confirm the deletion. If in the dialog displayed you check the Remember my preference box and then answer No, your next deletion attempt will produce no results due to the application remembering your negative answer the first time.
Still, if you insist on being able to always use your answers to confirmation requests as settings, uncheck the Allow saving recommended preferences only box.
