LDAP Administrator provides multiple options for adjusting the appearance and behavior of the application toolbars and menus. To be able to customize those, go to the Tools menu, click Customize and then choose the Options tab.

If you want LDAP Administrator to display tool tips for toolbar commands, check the Show ScreenTips on toolbars box. The screen tips along with the command description can also include a shortcut key for the command if you check the Show shortcut keys in ScreenTips box.

To make toolbar icons larger for the sake of enhanced visibility, check the Large Icons box.

In case there are certain menu commands that you rarely use, and you want them demoted so not to appear in the menus unless expanded, check the Menus show recently used commands first box. If you choose not to use this option, LDAP Administrator will still store information as to how frequently you use each of the commands so that when you select this option later, the menus could be properly adjusted to display just the commonly used commands in the menu.

To view all commands in the menu after a brief delay with the mouse pointer resting on an open menu, check the Show full menus after a short delay box.

Finally, clicking the Reset my usage data button will result in getting all the menu items and buttons back to their original usage state. This means that if an item was originally marked as rarely used, it will become hidden again despite your using it frequently.
